Discover how professional Padel player, Guillermo Cagigas, uses the Pod to power his performance on the court

When we sat down with Guillermo Cagigas, a professional Padel player and Eight Sleep athlete, it became clear that for him, recovery isn’t just a part of training—it’s everything. Guille knows that in a sport where every split-second decision matters, sleep isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. With the Pod, he doesn’t leave anything to chance. The advanced technology ensures he recovers fully each night, so he’s always sharp, strong, and ready to dominate.

PADEL X SLEEP FITNESS

Can you share how the Pod has impacted your on-court performance?

Since I need quick reactions and a lot of strength on the court and explosiveness. The recovery that I get from the Pod every night, really helped me to improve on all those aspects. In terms of soreness and how tired my body is after a tough day, the Pod really helps in getting that recovered as fast as possible.

Sleep is the cornerstone of recovery for athletes. It’s during sleep that the body repairs muscles, consolidates memory, and releases growth hormones—all vital for peak athletic performance. The Pod’s advanced biometric tracking helps Taylor monitor his sleep quality and adjust his routine to maximize recovery.

What role does deep sleep play in your mental preparation for matches?

Mentally, the Pod really helps me to keep me cool during the matches since I know that I’m doing the right things every single day with the recovery that I get. So it helps me on being really sharp on court and on those quick decisions that you gotta make second by second. It really makes a difference.

A good night’s sleep is a game-changer, not just for physical recovery but also for mental sharpness. Quality sleep improves cognitive functions such as decision-making, reaction times, and focus—all essential for high-stakes performance.

Can you describe a time when better sleep made a significant difference in your performance?

I can say that when I play at home matches in Florida or Miami, specifically that I get to sleep on my bed, it really makes a difference. And I feel more confident and secure on the court and well rested compared to when I go to play other tournaments outside of Florida.

Can you describe a time when better sleep made a significant difference in your performance?

I had a recent tournament last month in Boynton Beach in Florida and we were playing on a Sunday and we had three matches on Saturday that we had to play to qualify.

So there was a lot of time on court on Saturday and next morning we had the semifinals, a really tough match. I had to drive back home for an hour to get a good sleep and then go back to play on Sunday and we got through to the semifinals and I think it was thanks to sleeping properly that Saturday night.

In terms of that tournament, it was really tough and intense. The Pod played a significant role.
